Cursor’s Fury by Jim Butcher

Cursor’s Fury by Jim Butcher is the third book in the Codex of Alera of six books.  It is a military fantasy novel.

Tavi has graduated from the Academy and is now working as a spy for the First Lord of Alera.  He still lacks furies but as usual, his wits and intelligence are more important than relying on magic like those closest to him have access to at a moment’s notice.  Out of the blue, Tavi finds himself in of a military legion of misfits and his closest friends fighting to stay alive as they are attacked for political gain.  Will Tavi survive the looming civil war, the invasion of the Canim people from across the sea without the aid of furies?

Another incredibly well plotted and written novel that will not leave the reader disappointed in any respect.  The characters and the setting are all perfection of the written word.  The length of the book may be scary to some, but trust me the book is just as long as it needs to be.

Five out of five stars for the third incredible book of the Codex of Alera series.
