Till Death Do Us Purl by Anne Canadeo is the fourth installment in the Black Sheep Knitting series and another Scribd read. A cozy mystery with familiar characters that makes for a comfortable afternoon read.
This time the ladies have agreed to help a local bride finish the shawls needed for the bridesmaids in her wedding. The bride has knitted her wedding dress but as any of you’ve that planned your own wedding know, the stress and details are enough to make you scream. The ladies are happy to help our and are saddened when just days after the wedding the groom dies. What ensues is a confounding mystery and treacherous waters that must be navigated to solve the crime. Is the young widow guilty or is she truly the victim of circumstance?
Once again, the local police force unwittingly needs the help of the knitters to solve the mystery and as usual, they are resentful of any and all assistance. Lucy is still very much the protagonist of the novels and Maggie is a character but not central. I am enjoying the slow developing relationship of Lucy and the town vet as the series continues. I’ll be honest, even though I’m not a knitter, I’d happily spend an evening or afternoon gabbing and crafting with these funny and witty ladies.
Five stars out of five for keeping me entertained and looking forward to the next book.
